Camperdown Vascular Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for comprehensive assessment of the peripheral circulation. This includes the latest Philips colour enhanced Duplex scanner . Non-invasive investigations can now document the presence and severity of almost all peripheral vascular disorders.

Available diagnostic tests at the Camperdown Vascular Laboratory include:
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) - Blockages in the circulation to the arms or legs due to atherosclerosis or other diseases, which may threaten the limb.
- Arterial pressure measurement in the legs or arms (Physiologic testing)
- Duplex ultrasound scan of the extremity arteries
- Exercise testing for claudication (leg pain with walking)
Cerebrovascular Disease - Blockages in the arteries to the brain that may increase the risk of stroke
- Carotid artery duplex scan
- Subclavian and vertebral scanning
Deep Venous Thrombosis - Blood clots in the veins that could end being life threatening and could migrate to the lungs
- Venous duplex scan of the arms or legs
- Scanning to assess the iliac veins inferior vena cava
Renal Artery Disease - Circulatory disorders of the kidneys that cause hypertension (high blood pressure) or kidney failure
- Renal artery duplex scan
- Duplex scanning of renal transplant
Mesenteric Arterial Disease - Disorders of circulation to the stomach
- Duplex imaging of the major mesenteric arteries and veins
Aortic Aneurysms - A ballooning of the major artery that can cause fatal rupture
- Diagnosis and measurement of aortic aneurysms
- Duplex scan for suspected peripheral arterial aneurysms
