What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please bring the following items to your appointment:

  • Your referral letter from your GP or specialist doctor

  • All x-rays, scans and tests relevant to your visit

  • Your Medicare Card and health fund details

  • Your insurance or workers compensation information if relevant

  • A list of medication if appropriate.

How do I get a referral?

Please consult your General Practitioner before arranging an appointment with any Specialist. Patients wishing to claim from an insurance company (Medicare, Private Health Fund, Worker’s Compensation Insurer) must be referred to by a General Practitioner.

Is there parking available?

Entrance to the car park is via Missenden Medical Centre Patient Parking off Briggs Street. There is a lift, as well as ambulance and wheelchair access, at the entrance of this building.

What is the best accommodation if I need to stay nearby?

Short & long term concession accommodation is available nearby at Rydges Hotel. It is located within a short walking distance from the Missenden Medical Centre which is convenient for interstate & country patients to stay.

Can the Doctor advise me on the telephone?

Specific medical problems need to be discussed with a surgeon in person so that medical advice is tailored for the specific needs of the individual. For this reason medical advice cannot be given over the phone or via email.

I need a medical certificate. How do I get one?

If you require a medical certificate please inform staff on your arrival.
